Leeds city breaks
With more listed buildings than any other English city outside of London, a great sporting heritage, fantastic mountain biking, and shopping to really get excited about there’s plenty of reason to take your city break to Leeds. The gateway to Yorkshire, this vibrant city is ideally located and features some of the country’s most beautiful landscapes. A trip to the opera or ballet at the Grand Theatre, shopping at in the Victorian Quarter, a visit to the Royal Armouries Museum, dinner at one of the exceptionally tasty restaurants and a night to remember – just a flavour of what you can experience during a short stay in Leeds.
Places to visit and top tips:
- Take a trip to the Victoria Quarter to admire its stunning architecture and the designer stores. This is home to Harvey Nicholls and lunch in their top floor restaurant or a snack in the arcade café are recommended.
- Visit the Royal Armouries to see the UK’s national collection of arms and armour. They often hold events re-enacting some of the great moments in our history. Clarence Dock, adjacent to the museum, is a great place for shopping and dining out along the waterfront.
- The original Harry Ramsden’s is just outside the city at Guiseley, where you can sample some of the best fish and chips in the country.
