Day 1: Fly to Sydney.

Day 3 Sydney: On arrival make your way to your hotel. The remainder of the day is free to relax or begin your explorations.

Day 4 Sydney: A full day to discover the delights of one of the world’s greatest cities. Sights and attractions not to be missed include the iconic Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge.

Day 5 Sydney/Cruise: Enjoy time at leisure before you are transferred to the cruise terminal to board the Azamara Journey.

Day 6 At sea: Familiarise yourself with the extensive on board facilities. Maybe pamper yourself at the spa or work out at the gym.

Day 7 Hobart, Australia: Step ashore this afternoon in the Tasmanian capital and stroll along the historic waterfront, famous for its Georgian architecture. Make your way to Salamanca Place whose rows of sandstone buildings are filled with bars, restaurants, shops, boutiques, galleries and craft shops.

Day 8 Hobart, Australia: The ship remains in Hobart this morning, so why not head just outside the city to Mount Wellington, which serves as a picture-perfect backdrop to the city, for a little hiking, or perhaps drive along the coast to Freycinet National Park. Days 9-10 At sea: Two full days at sea to relax.

Day 11 Milford Sound, New Zealand: Morning cruise in Milford Sound, which captures New Zealand in all of its lush green glory.

Days 12-13 Dunedin, New Zealand: Known as both the City of Literature and the Edinburgh of the South, Dunedin is sure to be a pleasant chapter in your voyage. Take a guided coach tour around the city and view the Flemish architecture or explore the Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays of the Otago Peninsula. Stroll along one of the many beaches; view some of the wildlife unique to the area or learn more about local culture at Toitu Otago Settlers Museum.

Day 14 Akaroa, New Zealand: Akaroa is a village situated in the heart of an ancient volcano on New Zealand’s South Island. With waters that are home to the world’s smallest and rarest dolphin, the Hector’s Dolphin, Akaroa is a haven for animal lovers. Be sure to take a dolphin sighting tour where you can also spot New Zealand fur seals, little blue penguins, and various other forms of sea life in and around the sheltered harbour. If you’d you’d rather stay on dry land, take a tour of an Alpaca farm, and get up close and personal with the unique animals. View the colonial architecture, crafts, and cafés as you explore the streets of this charming seaside town.

Day 15 Picton, New Zealand: Like most of New Zealand, this seaside town and the surrounding area is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. Choose your own adventure and go fishing, swimming, bird watching, or visit the playful fur seal pups at their colony near the waterfall at Ohau Point.

Day 16 Napier, New Zealand: Cruise this morning before arriving at Napier this afternoon. Following a devastating earthquake in 1931, the city rebuilt in spectacular Art Deco style, so be sure to take a stroll through the streets to admire the architecture.

Day 17 Napier, New Zealand: The ship remains in Napier this morning, so why not continue to explore the city itself or perhaps visit the gannet colony at Cape Kidnappers, spend time testing out the local vineyards or stop by the Napier farmers’ market.

Day 18 Tauranga, New Zealand: Situated on the North Island, Tauranga is a popular seaside getaway. Initially settled by the Maori in the 13th century, the Bay of Plenty area has an abundance of things to see and do. Relax on one of the many beaches; venture out on the water for dolphin watching, or even a jet boat ride. Wander around the restaurants, cafés, and pubs of the waterfront Strand or, perhaps head outside of town to Te Puia, which includes a thermal valley, the Pohutu geyser, mud pool, and the Pikirangi Maori village.

Day 19 Cruise/Auckland: Disembark and you will be transferred to your hotel. At leisure for the rest of the day.

Day 20 Auckland: Enjoy a day at leisure in the glorious City of Sails.

Day 21 Auckland/Hong Kong: Transfer to the airport for your flight to Hong Kong. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Day 22 Hong Kong: This big city is filled with bustling urban areas where skyscrapers sit cheek by jowl with old Chinese markets while sampans and junks bob around the harbour. We highly recommend you take a ride across the harbour on the Star Ferry or take the gravity-defying funicular tram to Victoria Peak and soak up the sweeping views.

Day 23 Hong Kong: You will be transferred to the airport for your onward journey.
