One of the most beautiful of the Cook islands, Rarotonga, in the Southern Group, is the largest and offers a unique blend of Polynesia and the west. Rugged green mountains covered in jungle, mango groves and coconut trees rise from the turquoise lagoon which hides the secret coral world beneath.
