Tanzania & Zanzibar

Tanzania

Tanzania is a country of many parts. Kilimanjaro National Park is one of the most visited regions – not for its wildlife, although there is plenty – but to enable you to gaze at the snow-capped majesty of the mountain itself.

For game viewing, the incomparable Serengeti has a reputation of which it is justly proud. To experience herds of animals gazing on the shimmering plains which stretch as far as the eye can see is one of life’s true pleasures. At around 12 miles wide, the Ngorongoro Conservation Areas offers more opportunity for game viewing with high concentrations of lion, elephant, buffalo and flamingo and even the chance of seeing the black rhino.

Zanzibar

The archipelago of Zanzibar is comprised of two main islands, Zanzibar and Pemba, plus numerous smaller islands and islets.

An island state within the United Republic of Tanzania, Zanzibar is situated in the Indian Ocean about 25 miles from the Tanzanian coast and only six degrees south of the Equator.

Known locally as Unguja, Zanzibar Island is 60 miles long and 20 miles wide and is characterised by beautiful white-sand beaches with colourful coral reefs and warm clear blue waters, perfect for snorkelling and diving.
