Day 1 Depart UK: From selected airports.

Day 2 Johannesburg: On arrival transfer to your hotel.

Day 3 Johannesburg/Pretoria/Mpumalanga: Early morning departure from Jo’burg. Head for South Africa’s capital city, Pretoria (Tshwane) where you’ll enjoy a short tour. The journey continues towards Mpumalanga via the historic towns of Witbank, Dullstroom and Lydenburg, passing over the famous Long Tom Pass onto the small town of Sabie. This afternoon explore Pilgrim’s Rest, the old mining village where gold was first discovered (approx 5 hours drive).

Day 4 Lowveld/Kruger National Park: This morning’s journey gives you a boundless view of forested mountains and fertile plains as you head for spectacular Blyde River Canyon, one of the natural wonders of Africa. Explore the quaint village of Graskop before arrival at your hotel (approx 3 hours drive).

Day 5 Kruger National Park: A full day’s Big Five game viewing in Kruger. Set off before breakfast in open safari vehicles in search of lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard and all manner of wildlife, birds and plant species.

Day 6 Swaziland: Enjoy an enchanting drive to the tiny Kingdom of Swaziland. Witness a Swazi cultural experience before visiting the famous Ngwenya Glass Factory to see master craftsmen fashion collectable figures and functional art out of molten glass. Continue through the capital city, Mbabane, known for its vibrant markets packed with woven baskets, beadwork and carvings. Your journey continues to your hotel within the beautiful Ezulwini Valley.

Day 7 Kingdom of the Zulus: Visit the Swazi Candle Factory teeming with exquisite wax artworks in every shape and colour imaginable. Continue on into Zululand, passing traditional round huts and endless vistas. Arrive mid-afternoon in St Lucia, a World Heritage Site and home to hippo, crocodile and no less than 367 bird species (approx 6 hours drive).

Day 8 Durban: This morning enjoy a cruise on Lake St Lucia before departing for Durban, a journey which takes you along the KwaZulu Natal coastline passing sugar cane fields. On arrival at Durban the afternoon is at leisure to either relax or perhaps take an optional city tour (approx 3 hours drive).

Day 9 Durban/Port Elizabeth/Knysna: Early transfer to the airport for your onward flight to Port Elizabeth. Your journey from the airport will take you through glorious, indigenous Tsitsikamma Forest, making several stops before arriving at Knysna, a visually stunning resort in the heart of the famous Garden Route (approx 6 hours drive).

Day 10 Knysna: Cruise on the vast Knysna Lagoon and visit the Featherbed Nature Reserve. Enjoy an amazing view of the imposing sandstone ‘Heads’ which guard the sea entrance to Knysna’s huge tidal lagoon, and the forests, marshes and pristine beaches beyond. After lunch the remainder of the day is at leisure to enjoy this lovely town (approx 20 minutes drive).

Day 11 Cango Caves/Oudtshoorn: Transfer by road enjoying the views of the spectacular Outeniqua Pass en route to Oudtshoorn. After lunch, visit an ostrich farm and then head underground for a fascinating tour of the Cango Caves, one of South Africa’s most incredible natural wonders (approx 3 hours drive).

Day 12 Oudtshoorn/Hermanus/Cape Town: A day of magnificent vistas as you head for Cape Town. During the whale season (July to November only) travel via the seaside village of Hermanus in the hope of catching a glimpse of the Southern Right Whales. Out of season travel along Route 62 which is South Africa’s version of America’s ‘Route 66’ (approx 6 hours drive).

Day 13 Cape Peninsula: A full day’s touring of the ruggedly beautiful Cape Peninsula, stopping at the fishing village of Hout Bay. Carry on along the coastline to Boulders Beach for close encounters with penguins. Drive through the quaint naval village of Simon’s Town on your way back to Cape Town (approx 3 hours drive).

Day 14 Cape Winelands: Journey into the beautiful and tranquil Cape Winelands. Sip some of South Africa’s finest wines at wellknown estates in Paarl and Stellenbosch. You will also enjoy a visit to the Huguenot Memorial Museum and the Afrikaans Language Monument (approx 4 hours drive).

Day 15 Cape Town/UK: Extend your stay? Or depart for the UK.
