Day 1 Depart UK: From selected UK airports.
Day 2 Johannesburg: On arrival transfer to your hotel.
Day 3 Johannesburg/Hazyview: Morning departure along the circular Panorama route, visiting the viewing points of Blyde Canyon and Bourke’s Luck Potholes before heading to Hazyview.
Day 4 Kruger National Park: A full day’s game viewing in Kruger, an internationally renowned game reserve of nearly 2 million hectares. Look out for lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, leopard and all manner of wildlife. Should you wish to take a safari by open-vehicle, this is available at a supplement.
Day 5 Hazyview/Swaziland: Enjoy an enchanting drive to the tiny Kingdom of Swaziland, visiting the famous Ngwenya Glass Factory.
Day 6 Swaziland/St Lucia: Journey into Zululand stopping enroute at the roadside markets. Continue into the Kingdom of KwaZulu Natal. Arrive in St Lucia during the afternoon. This World Heritage Site is home to hippo, crocodile and no less than 367 bird species. An optional sundowner cruise is available.
Day 7 St Lucia/Durban: Morning at leisure, with an option to enjoy a morning game drive. Late morning departure for Durban, on arrival a visit is made to the Botanic Gardens following a city tour including a stop at the famous Indian Market.
Day 8 Durban/Drakensberg: Morning departure into the majestic southern Drakensberg Mountains before continuing through the Southern Midlands Meander Route. At leisure on arrival to enjoy the stunning scenery and fresh, mountain air.
Day 9 Drakensberg: A day at leisure in Drakensberg or an optional 4x4 adventure tour up the Sani Pass and into Lesotho.
Day 10 Drakensberg/East London: A morning to savour the scenery before heading south to East London, the only river port in Southern Africa. En route a visit is made to the museum in Umtata, dedicated to Nelson Mandela who was born and grew up in this town.
Day 11 East London/Port Elizabeth: Enjoy a short city tour of East London this morning before travelling through ‘Settler Country’ towards Grahamstown. Visit the 1820 Settler Memorial and continue to Port Elizabeth. Afternoon at leisure to enjoy the beaches.
Day 12 Port Elizabeth/Knysna: Drive towards the Cape, visiting the Tsitsikamma Forest. A highlight of the day is a walk to the suspension bridge over the Storm’s River. Arrive Knysna late afternoon.
Day 13 Oudtshoorn: Depart after breakfast for the spectacular Outeniqua Pass to Oudtshoorn, renowned for its ostrich industry. Visit the famous Cango Caves and an ostrich farm. Return to Knysna.
Day 14 Knysna/Cape Town: Enroute to Cape Town stop off in Mossel Bay to visit the Post Office Tree, Bartholomeus Diaz Museum and Shell Museum. Drive via Swellendam, Worcester and through the Huguenot Tunnel before arriving in Cape Town late afternoon.
Day 15 Cape Town: A day at leisure for independent sightseeing. A visit to the V&A Waterfront is recommended or perhaps you may like to take the cable car up to Table Mountain.
Day 16 Cape Town/UK: At leisure prior to your return flight to the UK.
