Nuwara Eliya 1 night
Day 1 Kandy: Early morning pick up from Colombo airport or your Colombo hotel (approx 3 hours) to the famous Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage followed by a visit to the ‘Temple of the Tooth’.
Day 2 Kandy: Morning visit to the Royal Botanical Garden followed by an afternoon to explore the local markets. Evening Kandyan dance show.
Day 3 Nuwara Eliya: Proceed from Kandy to the cooler climes of tea country (approx 4 hours) and visit a tea plantation and factory. Some 6,000 feet above sea level is the former colonial hill station of Nuwara Eliya whose style is pure Victoriana.
Day 4 Nuwara Eliya: Continue via Kitulgala (approx 3 hours), the main location where “Bridge on the River Kwai” was filmed. En route pass by St Claire and Devon waterfalls. After lunch continue to your chosen beach hotel or extend to the Udawalawe National Park (approx 51/2 hours). Please ask for details

Due to en route sightseeing and the nature of the scenic, winding roads, some journeys can take several hours. If time permits an overnight stay at the Jetwing Beach Hotel in Negombo is recommended on day 1 of Hill Country Journey before departure for Sigiriya.
