Rajasthan & Northern India wildlife & safari holidays

Ranthambore: Hailed as one of India's finest wildlife destinations, it was established as a sanctuary in 1959. Now a National Park, its name comes from the 11th century fort of Ranthambore, which sits on a rocky outcrop in the forest. The fort was a vital citadel for the control of central India. The park was once the scene of royal hunting parties, but today it is famous for its tigers and is one of the best places in the country to see these majestic predators in the wild.

Kanha is one of India's largest national parks and the inspiration behind Rudyard Kipling's unforgettable classic "Jungle Book". Along with its sister sanctuary at Bandhavgarh they offer a better than average chance of spotting the magnificent and elusive tiger. The parks are also home to deer, leopard, bear and wildcat.
