Rayong is an old market town, which still retains much of the character of days gone by. The main industry is fishing and just a stone’s throw from the centre of town, you will find the busy fishing village. At the little village of Ban Pae, you can watch the locals, dressed in straw hats and sarongs, laying out shrimp to dry on the beach.
This isn’t the place for shop til you drop action, although there are a few local handicraft shops to purchase gifts to take home.
