Day 1 Depart UK: From selected airports.

Day 2 Kuala Lumpur: Arrive in the Malaysian capital.

Day 3/4 Kuala Lumpur: Two days at leisure to explore the many sights. Take the lift up to the bridge walkway of the Petronas Twin Towers for breathtaking views. Visits to the Jamek Mosque, Merdeka Square and the Railway Station are also not to be missed.

Day 5 Kuala Lumpur/Kota Kinabalu: Leave the hustle and bustle behind and fly to Sabah. On arrival at your hotel you are at leisure.

Day 6 Kota Kinabalu/Sandakan: Take an early morning flight and proceed for 30 minutes to the Sepilok orang-utan Sanctuary. Take a guided walk through the jungle to the feeding platform to hopefully catch a glimpse of these loveable creatures. Travel by boat to the Lower Kinabatangan River Sanctuary, before cruising up river to Sukau village in search of the Proboscis monkeys, birds and wildlife. Optional late afternoon river cruise to Menanggol River.

Day 7 Sandakan/Kota Kinabalu: After breakfast, cruise back to Sandakan watching for wildlife. Upon arrival visit the Water Village to see native stilt houses and the Central Market. Drive to the Puu Jih Syh Temple before your return flight to Kota Kinabalu.

Day 8/13 Beach resort: At leisure to simply relax on the vast stretch of white sandy beach or perhaps indulge in some more active pursuits such as golf, tennis or watersports. You may also opt to visit Poring Hot Springs or Kinabalu National Park.

Day 14 Kota Kinabalu/KL/UK: Return flight to KL and the UK.

The visit to Sandakan will suit some and be impossible for others and is not recommended to the less mobile. It is soft adventure and the terrain can be unpredictable. Comfortable shoes, insect repellent and binoculars are strongly recommended. Minimum of two passengers.
