Day 1 Melbourne/Daylesford: Drive 80 minutes outside of Melbourne and you will arrive at the pretty village of Daylesford, known since the time of the aboriginies as a place of healing. The region boasts the largest number of natural mineral water springs in Australia and the largest concentration of holistic therapists in the southern hemisphere.
Day 2 Daylesford: Day at leisure. Time to relax and enjoy the Lake House's gardens, or a treatment in the Salus Spa. Alternatively, walk down the main street which has an abundance of quirky shops, galleries, cafes and book shops.
Day 3 Daylesford/Melbourne: A last chance to explore the region before you return to Melbourne via Ballarat. Gold was discovered here in 1851 and today you can visit Sovereign Hill historical park which is a large recreation of a gold mining township. See people performing their chores in costume and try your hand at panning for gold.
