The place

Local time: GMT + 9 1/2 hours
Climate: Similar to the Mediterranean, although the seasons are, of course , reversed. South Australia enjoys warm, dry summers, which in the outback, can be scorching. Winters are mild. Most rain falls in the winter, although this is one of the driest Australian states.
Airport information: Adelaide’s airport is just 5 miles west of the city centre. A regular shuttle service operates between the international and domestic terminals and downtown Adelaide. The service offers pick ups and drop offs at most of the main hotels.
