Day 1 Sydney/Blue Mountains: Leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind you as you travel west towards the World Heritage listed Blue Mountains National Park. Stop en route at Featherdale Wildlife Park to see kangaroo, wallaby and koalas before driving on to the Blue Mountains, named due to the fine mist of oil given off by eucalyptus (approx 1 hour 50 mins).
Day 2 Blue Mountains: A chance to explore the area to see waterfalls, gorges and magnificent cliffs, also visit Echo Point for a picture of the famous Three Sisters rock formation. Alternatively, take the scenic railway or skyway for a closer look. After a busy day return to your hotel.
Day 3 Blue Mountains/Hunter Valley: This morning leave the mountains behind as you head in to the Hunter Valley region famous for its wineries. The heart of the valley is the Pokolbin area where you will find brand names such as Lindemans and Tyrells (approx 31/2 hours).
Day 4 Hunter Valley: A day to explore the vineyards and sample some of their produce over a leisurely lunch, or drive in to the Wollemi and Goulburn National Parks.
Day 5 Hunter Valley/Sydney: This morning drive back to Sydney (approx 21/2 hours).
